Each therapeutic variable has its own healthy or preferred range. A healthy or preferred range is always organ system-, location-, function-, use-, client-, and therapist-specific.

Each therapeutic variable has its own healthy or preferred range. 

The length and strength of the biceps femoris muscle, the pliability and mobility of dermatome S1, and the stability and range of motion of the sagittal ankle each have their limits. They can't be too much or too little. 

A healthy or preferred range is always organ system-, location-, function-, use-, client-, and therapist-specific. 

For example, the preferred ranges for a professional concert pianist and a high school soccer player will differ, and the soleus muscle typically has a different preferred pliability range than the long head of the triceps brachii muscle.

It's important to realize that, regardless of a client's activities, job, or goals, there's a general "healthy" range.

In my therapy sessions, I help my clients feel better by using skin therapy to alter the integumentary system and manual muscle and joint therapies to bring the muscular and skeletal systems into balance.

And because motion employs every system, I use exercises to fine-tune all three organ systems simultaneously.

During treatment, I focus on getting the best results. Evaluation and re-evaluation of all painful-motion-involved skin, muscles, and joints help me tune my therapy towards the highest return on investment.

With all therapeutic variables within range, motion improves and pain subsides.

As I mentioned previously, you can do something similar to what I just shared or carve out your own path. Regardless, please make sure your clients' progress is your guiding light, your North Star. Their well-being is all that matters.
